Class Description

This course teaches students how to develop a detailed home defense strategy and family plan by analyzing your home’s current security condition and completing a threat assessment; options for home defense firearms and consequential differences between them; the importance of tactical flashlights, other self-defense tools, and gun safes; how to differentiate between target focus vs front sight focus during a home invasion; highly effective defensive shooting skills; and an overview of the legal use of force when defending yourself in your home or on your property plus tips for handling the legal aftermath. The classroom-only course focuses on home defense education and strategy. Any opportunities for firearm handling during the class are presented with SIRT (shot indicating resetting trigger) guns, which are designed to feel just like a real firearm but give students the benefit of high-level training and operate with a laser instead of live-fire ammo, providing real-time feedback in a safe environment. There are 5 options of SIRT Pro guns that Stellr Defense instructs with, including those modeled after the Glock 19, Glock 17/22, Smith & Wesson M&P, a Pocket Pistol and a Pistol Caliber Carbine rifle. In this class, students get the opportunity to handle each of these models to determine which ones feel most comfortable to them for home defense consideration. This course is essential for all students to learn how to secure their home, create a personalized home defense strategy, and keep themselves and their families safe. Ages 21 and over.
