AVERT (Active Violence Emergency Response Training) is a highly interactive class that teaches students the skills necessary to recognize warning signs, escape, evade or attack an active shooter, and administer life-saving medical assistance to saves lives when every second counts. This education and training is important for everyone and essential for students. (Must be 18 or over.)
Situational Awareness
Learn how to evaluate your surroundings, recognize warning signs, and react quickly prior to an active shooter incident.
Working Together + Defending Rooms
Learn how to quickly asses a room for concealment options and self-defense weapons, barricade doors, and work together as a team to form and execute an effective counterattack strategy.
Escape, Evade or Attack
Learn the three ways to respond (escape, evade or attack) including how to best determine your escape route, utilize cover versus concealment, and counterattack measures including disarming the attacker.
Control Life-Threatening Bleeding
Learn how to control life-threatening bleeding in traumatic injuries that are often the result of active shootings by effectively applying direct pressure as well as administering a tourniquet properly.
